After graduating in History from Girton College Cambridge in 1932, Diana Ross worked in the Grenfell Mission Orphanage in St Anthony, Labrador for some months. Returning to England she helped Sir Wilfred Grenfell research his book The Romance of Labrador (1934), which set out to record the scientific and historical facts about Labrador, as far as they were known at the time. This was the first book illustrated by Diana Ross. She later used the name of her cat Gri. |
